Democrats Serve, a national organization supporting Democrats with public service backgrounds, announced on Feb. 26, 2024 the organization’s endorsement of Wesley Wheless for Board of Commissioners in Franklin County, North Carolina’s 7th District.

Democrats Serve’s executive director, Brett Broesder, stated that Wheless’ public service experience, serving as a teacher and volunteer firefighter, makes him an excellent example of someone who can excel as a candidate and policymaker.

"Public service isn't just a job for Wesley Wheless; it's his way of life," said Broesder.
