About Wesley Wheless

Wesley Wheless is a Franklin County native.

He grew up here and attended our public schools, graduating from Louisburg High School in the top 10% of his class. He then earned a B.S. in Geology from NC State University while working almost full-time to pay his way. He extended that training with attendance at the Indiana University Geologic Field Camp, one of the premier Geology programs in the country.

Wesley put his training into practice through extensive work in the fields of Environment and Safety. He has also worked as a High School teacher (Vance County) and County Landfill Manager (Granville County).

Wesley is married and has two children in the Franklin County School System.

Wesley's experience in the environmental industry, the classroom, local government, and public service puts him in a strong position to run for elected office. Having seen how much impact public service and local government can have on people, both positive and negative, Wesley intends to work to ensure that county government services adhere to a high standard and are equally available to all county residents.
